The course combines classroom instruction with practical evaluation of safe driving techniques, covering MHE operator responsibilities, the engineering principles behind MHE stability, safe operating rules, and accident prevention, followed by hands-on assessment of pre-start checks, safe operation, load handling, stacking, parking and travel on inclines.
The 1-day programme is a refresher course for drivers who are already trained and experienced — theory and practical assessment are completed on the same day. The 2-day programme is for new MHE drivers who need the full classroom and practical training from the ground up, including hazard awareness, emergency response, and a more advanced practical evaluation covering loading/unloading from racking, ramps, and hazardous or oversized loads.

We provide a certificate of competency upon successful completion, rather than a government-issued licence. As noted above, Malaysia doesn’t issue a single national forklift licence — training providers like MESH certify operators directly, and this certificate is what demonstrates your operators have met the training requirements of OSHA 1994. MESH also provides a trained driver identification card, so supervisors and site personnel can quickly verify that an operator is certified.
No — certification is only issued upon successfully completing both the classroom instruction and the practical skills test. If a participant doesn’t pass the practical assessment, reach out to us to discuss reassessment or retake arrangements.

Yes. Certification is specific to the equipment type covered in training — a counterbalance forklift certification, for example, doesn’t automatically qualify an operator for a reach truck, telehandler, or order picker. Each equipment type requires its own training and assessment.
